About
Many potters are designers. I am one of them. I think design is a wonderful foundation for ceramics; both disciplines share a focus on process, a need for problem-solving and produce a tangible, functional outcome. For those of us who began our profession before it became a digital process, clay offers another experience that feeds our creativity—the pleasurable act of making something with our hands.
All my work is in white clay—either porcelain or white stoneware. I like the way these clays feel and that they give me a blank canvas to work with. I enjoy approaching surface decoration like a visual design project. I explore rhythm, movement, and balance using slips, underglazes and rice paper transfers.
And all my work is functional. My pieces are meant to be used and enjoyed. They are all food, oven,* microwave and dishwasher safe.
Please enjoy!

* Best to put your piece in the oven as it’s warming up —especially if it’s been refrigerated.
